Fun at the Dogs Trust Open Day!

On Sunday 13 June 2010, David Constantine, Abigail, Debbie and Marina flew the Grove Lodge flag at the Dogs Trust Open Day in Shoreham. Marina, Debbie and Abigail showed off their gazebo building skills, while DC kindly kept everyone supplied with teas! Our doggy lucky dip was very popular and a bag of treats was handed out to every dog who could do a trick (and all who couldn’t actually -  a happy face and a waggy tail is good enough for us!).

It was lovely to be out and about chatting to everyone and to meet so many delightful dogs! One of our vets, Emma Robertson was having a day out and ended up looking at a dog with a tick and DC examined a German Shepherd with a cut tongue!

There were very impressive displays by police dogs and a fun dog show with a wide variety of classes including best rescue dog and waggiest tail.

You can see from the pictures that a fun time was had by all and hopefully Dogs Trust raised lots of money for their fabulous kennels at Shoreham.

  1. I was so angry the other day. i went with my partner to watch a horse show. and low and behold it was about 30 degrees out and we were practicaly melting in the heat. we parked next to an elderly couple who bimbled off in to theshow and left there trusting dogs in the back of their car in cat cages to simmer in the heat i had to say something and it wasnt polite.
    People ay.
