Woman put cat in bin for a “joke”
Posted by Abigail on 26/08/10, filed under News | 2 CommentsAren’t jokes supposed to be funny?
I don’t think Lola the kitten thought it was very funny to be scruffed by a stranger and stuffed into a wheelie bin, only to be found a terrifying 15 hours later by her worried owners who heard her plaintive cries.
Thank goodness the bin men didn’t collect that day.
Mary Bale, who carried out this bizarre act, was quoted in The Sun as saying “It’s just a cat” and that she didn’t know “what the fuss is about”. The RSPCA didn’t think it was very funny and are investigating.
Her actions are certainly beyond my comprehension, that’s for sure. Let us know your thoughts.

I support your blog on dear Lola. As regards ‘aren’t jokes supposed to be funny’? well Paul O’Grady’s rendition of Mary Bale’s action was indeed funny! Placing Mary Bale (lookalike) in a cage with a wheelie bin & a big cat A LION!! emm?
I think its disgusting what she did and the fact that she wasn’t sorry and said its only a cat makes it all the worse. I hope she gets the correct punishment for the offence when she goes to court in October and not just a slap on the wrist.
